The last weekend was spent at my brother's very nice organic farm at Umergaon. This is the picture of Ashoka flowers. Right now, it is in full bloom. It is called as Saraca Indica. A very popular ayurvedic medicine is prepared from this tree, called as Ashokarista.We use the Ashoka flower remedy for persons, who are experiencing very deep seated sadness. For dark depression, grief, aversion to do anything in life- this flower remedy may help. Ashoka in sanskrit means without grief.
